Latin American GMO powerhouse Brazil expands portfolio of crops with intro of new herbicide resistant soy. The new herbicidetolerant GM soybean will be launched initially in the states of Bahia, Gois, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paran, Rondnia, So Paulo and Distrito Federal.Brazil becomes the newest country to refuse GMO imports from the United States. As of 2015, there were 38 countries that had banned GM crops. 19 of these nations are from Europe and include Denmark, Luxembourg, Malta, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. brazil gmo crops
