Transfer Station PAYASYOUTHROW (PAYT) Starts February 1, 2018. Both the Hedly Street Transfer Station and the Prudence Island Transfer Station are converting to PayAsYouThrow (PAYT) facilities effective February 1, 2018. Household waste must be disposed of in speciallymarked Townapproved bags that you will be able to purchase at area stores beginning midtolate January 2018.The Town of Bristol has implemented a No Bin, No Barrel ordinance. Any rubbish to be picked up curbside must be accompanied by a recycling bin at the time of rubbish pickup. If not, the rubbish will be left behind. The Department of Public Works handles waste and rubbish collection in Bristol. The department is in charge of collection routes, recycling, and the transfer station (located on Minturn Road). Fees applicable to special pickup and the transfer station can be found on the Bristol town website.
